The short version
- HT Pro BB Zone Drawings 0.1.30 processes chart data on your device. The extension does not transmit that data to Hidden Trades or an extension-operated server.
- It reads the TradingView chart context, relevant HTP zone/label metadata and existing rectangle information to create and verify native chart drawings.
- Preferences are saved in
chrome.storage.local. The latest bounded diagnostic report is kept inchrome.storage.session. - Diagnostic downloads are optional, local JSON files. They are not automatically uploaded.
- The extension makes no direct network requests of its own. TradingView may fetch chart history or save/sync drawings through its own services when the extension uses its chart interface.
- There is no extension telemetry, advertising tracker, remote analytics SDK or AI upload in this version.
“Local” does not mean no data is handled. Chart contents, drawing details and interaction state are processed as described below, even though they are not sent to the developer.
1. Product, purpose and operator
This policy applies to the Chrome extension HT Pro BB Zone Drawings, version 0.1.30, a Manifest V3 extension published by Hidden Trades. Privacy contact: hello@hiddentrades.com.
Its purpose is to turn supported HiddenTrades Pro indicator zone information into native TradingView rectangle drawings, including price/time bounds and timeframe/Fibonacci annotations carried by the indicator. It supports clicking a recognised label, matching the HTP display or separating cluster groups, and a user-initiated “Create All BBs” scan across available chart history.
This notice describes the supplied 0.1.30 implementation. Purchases, website accounts/contact records, support emails and newsletters are separate from the extension’s local operation and are covered by the website privacy policy. The planned journal, AI companion, cloud setup dashboard and Telegram/email notification products are not data flows implemented by this extension build.
2. What the extension processes
Active chart and page context
On supported TradingView chart pages, the extension checks the active tab’s URL/identifier, window and focus/visibility state to select the correct chart and stop an operation if it changes. It can read the active chart identifier, symbol, timeframe/resolution and chart loading state. It may check TradingView’s signed-in status flag to determine whether drawing creation is available; it does not read login credentials or authentication cookies.
Opening the popup reads chart identity and existing scan status. It does not, by itself, start a full history scan or ask the indicator to recalculate.
Indicator content and existing drawings
The extension reads recognised HTP tooltip/label metadata and the indicator’s exported zone inventory. This can contain zone/cluster identifiers, direction, exact price and time bounds, labels, timeframe and Fibonacci text, member/group information, tick size, colours, transparency and related drawing settings.
For duplicate detection and verification, it also inspects existing rectangle drawing identifiers, label text, coordinates and relevant properties. Existing drawing text may reflect information you have put on your chart. These records are used locally to avoid duplicates and check that the intended drawings were created.
Chart history and user interactions
When you explicitly choose “Create All BBs”, the extension reads available history boundaries, bar-count/timestamp information, chart range/zoom and supported price-scale state. If older data is needed, it asks TradingView’s existing chart loader to request more history. Scan state includes collection progress, cancellation state, duplicate indexes, results and errors.
Pointer positions, hover/click gestures and small interface interactions are handled locally to place the ready badge, display a timeframe preview and respond to your drawing choices. Small fingerprints of tooltip content distinguish changes; they are not advertising or device-tracking identifiers. A local counter limits the introductory hover hint to its first three qualifying displays.
Information this build does not access for its functionality
The extension does not request your name, email address, X username or payment details. It does not read passwords, authentication tokens, cookies, clipboard contents, general browsing history, connected broker-account balances or executed-order records. It does not capture screenshots or operate order-entry/trading controls. Its temporary chart-history navigation concerns market-chart data, not your browser’s browsing history or your personal trade execution history.
3. Storage and retention on your device
| Location | What is kept | How long / how it is removed |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome local extension storage | Enable/pause preference, drawing mode, timeframe-label limit, border/text style preferences, and the first-hover hint counter (0–3) | Persists across ordinary chart reloads and browser restarts until changed, extension data is cleared or the extension is removed. Label-click creation is reset to enabled on browser startup and extension install/update/reload. |
| Runtime memory | Tooltip references/previews, pointer/gesture state, parsed zone data, scan inventory, chart navigation/restore state, duplicate indexes and progress/results | Used during the relevant page, worker or scan lifecycle. Hover UI is cleaned up when tooltips disappear or the chart loses the relevant focus/visibility. Some bounded per-tab result summaries can remain until the service worker unloads or they are replaced. |
| Chrome session extension storage | One latest diagnostic report under htpBbLastReport, associated with a tab | Replaced by the next stored report; cleared by a browser restart or removal of the extension/session data. It can survive popup closure and background-worker suspension. Merely closing a popup does not clear it. |
| A downloaded JSON file | The diagnostic report you explicitly choose to download | Remains in your chosen download location until you delete it. Removing the extension does not delete downloaded files or copies you made. |
| TradingView’s chart/layout | The native drawings created through TradingView’s interface | Managed by TradingView and your layout/account choices. Uninstalling the extension does not remove these drawings. |
Persistent extension preferences do not contain the full chart inventory. This version does not use chrome.storage.sync to synchronise preferences through the extension API.
What a diagnostic report contains
A size-limited report may include the extension version, run start/end times and duration, chart identifiers, symbol/timeframe, original chart range, selected settings, loaded-history bounds, source/study/zone identifiers, price/time coordinates, labels, inventory/selection decisions, history-loading timings, drawing identifiers, creation/verification results and error messages. Some fields describe chart navigation or indicator state so a failed scan can be investigated. The session-storage entry additionally associates the report with a browser tab identifier; the downloaded JSON contains the report itself.
The report is available through “Download diagnostic report” after a run. Downloading creates a local file using a browser Blob URL; it does not send the report to us. The file can reveal your chart interests or analysis context, so review it before choosing to share it.
4. Network use, sharing and TradingView
The extension’s bundled code does not make direct HTTP/WebSocket requests, upload chart data, call a Hidden Trades backend, or include a developer analytics endpoint. Its popup, scripts and icons are packaged with the extension. Internal messages between its popup, content script and background worker remain within the browser.
TradingView is an important distinction: the extension uses TradingView’s chart application to read chart state, request older bars and create native drawings. TradingView itself may make network requests to load data or save/synchronise drawings through your account and layout settings. The extension creates saveable drawings; that information is not confined to extension storage if TradingView saves it. Such processing is governed by TradingView’s privacy policy and your account settings.
Hidden Trades does not receive a copy of your chart, inventory or diagnostic report merely because you use the extension. If you voluntarily send a report to support, that separate disclosure is covered below.
If you obtain the extension through the Chrome Web Store, Google separately handles store distribution, installation/update services, reviews and browser functionality under the Google privacy policy. Browser/operating-system backups or other tools you use may also handle local files independently of this extension.
5. Permissions and their purpose
Version 0.1.30 declares these extension permissions and host access:
| Permission / access | Why it is used |
|---|---|
storage | Save drawing preferences and the capped hover-hint counter locally, and hold the latest temporary diagnostic report in session storage. |
scripting | Run bundled functions in the supported chart page to read chart identity, carry out a requested history scan and create/verify native drawings. |
https://*.tradingview.com/chart/* | Restrict content-script and chart-interface access to TradingView chart pages. The content script provides the local hover/click interface; explicit drawing/scan commands use the active chart. |
The extension uses active-tab metadata through Chrome’s tab interfaces under the declared chart access. It does not request the broad tabs permission, history, cookies, debugger, clipboardRead or <all_urls>. It does not declare externally connectable messaging or load remotely hosted executable code.
Host permissions describe what the browser permits, while the preceding sections describe how the current code uses that access. Browser warnings should be considered together with these explanations, rather than interpreted as a claim that no page data is read.
6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use commitment
Hidden Trades’ use of information received through HT Pro BB Zone Drawings adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Information accessed through the extension is used only to provide and support its disclosed user-facing chart-drawing functions. We do not sell it, use or transfer it for personalised, retargeted or interest-based advertising, create unrelated user profiles, determine creditworthiness, or use it to train AI models.
The extension does not automatically transfer this information to us. If you specifically share it for support, we limit access and use to that support purpose, security needs or applicable legal obligations. We do not permit unrelated human review. Any transfer of extension-derived user data must remain within the allowed Limited Use purposes—for example, a necessary service/support function, security or legal requirements, or an appropriately protected business transfer. This is not permission for unrelated monetisation.
For the policy framework, see the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy.
7. Your controls and deletion choices
- Choose when to draw: individual drawings follow recognised label clicks; a full scan starts only when you press “Create All BBs”. The button becomes “Stop” while a scan is running.
- Pause label-click creation: use the popup’s “Click labels to create BB drawings” switch. This pauses label-click drawing for the current browser session; it is reset to enabled at the next browser startup or extension install/update/reload. It is not a full extension-disable switch and does not disable the separately requested bulk-scan feature.
- Stop all extension operation: disable or remove the extension in Chrome’s extension-management page, or restrict its allowed site access where Chrome offers that control. Refresh an already-open chart page to remove any content-script UI that remains loaded.
- Remove preferences and session records: remove the extension, or clear its extension storage using Chrome’s available management/developer controls. Restart Chrome to clear the browser-session report. Fully exiting/restarting Chrome is different from merely closing the popup or a single window.
- Remove a downloaded report: delete the JSON file and any copies from your download location, backups or other storage you chose.
- Remove created drawings: delete them using TradingView’s drawing/Object Tree controls and save the layout as appropriate. Disabling or uninstalling the extension does not undo saved TradingView drawings.
We cannot remotely inspect or erase extension-only local storage because this version does not upload it to Hidden Trades. If you shared a report with support, you can separately request deletion of the copy we received, subject to applicable obligations.
8. Support information you choose to share
Contacting hello@hiddentrades.com is optional. If you email us, we receive your email address, message and attachments. A diagnostic report is shared only if you choose to send it; downloading it alone is not consent to upload it, and there is no automatic report-upload function in this build.
Before sharing, you can inspect the JSON report and remove information unrelated to your question. Please do not send TradingView passwords, session cookies, wallet keys or seed phrases. Support correspondence and any shared report are handled for the enquiry, related troubleshooting/security and applicable obligations under the website privacy policy. They are not used for advertising or AI training.
9. Security and practical limits
The extension limits its execution to supported HTTPS chart pages, validates incoming chart metadata and internal message origins, and uses packaged scripts. Its tooltip markers identify a data format; they are not a digital signature or a guarantee that page content is trustworthy.
Local data relies on Chrome’s extension/profile controls and your device security. The extension does not implement its own encryption for preference storage, session reports or downloaded JSON files. People or software with access to your browser profile, device or downloaded files may be able to access them. Native drawings and data handled by TradingView are also subject to TradingView’s security and sharing settings.
The extension does not bypass TradingView’s drawing/account restrictions. Stop controls and a paused drawing switch are workflow controls, not a guarantee that all local records or completed drawings have been erased.
10. Privacy requests and rights
For questions about the extension’s data handling, contact hello@hiddentrades.com and identify the extension version if possible. We can explain the local storage and controls, but cannot produce a server-side copy of chart data that was never sent to us.
If we hold personal information because you purchased access or contacted support, applicable rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. The website notice explains how to exercise those rights. Depending on applicable law, you can also complain to your competent data-protection authority. Requests relating to TradingView or Google’s independently held data should also be directed to the relevant provider.
11. Version scope and changes
This notice is based on HT-Pro-BB-Zone-Drawings-0.1.30.zip, including its manifest, bundled JavaScript, popup and storage behaviour. It describes version 0.1.30 rather than granting blanket permission for future features.
If a later release adds a cloud connection, account/licensing integration, telemetry, AI processing or another materially different use of information, this policy and the relevant store disclosures will need to be updated before that processing begins, with additional notice or consent where required. We will keep the effective date and version scope visible on this public page.
